Banaue At last I reached Banaue. I could pass the road which i couldn't pass yesterday because of land slide. I came here 2nd time. Last time also it was cloudy and not so much planted rice. anyway it's unbelievable view. Long long time ago, their ancestors made them. The length of stone wall is longer than length of field... ... This rice terraces is on the World Cultural and Natural Heritage. But there is problem. Noone work here to keep this view and culture here. So I observed many stone walls are destroyed. How can we keep this area... We cannot force local people to stay here to keep their culture. Because they might want to go down to city. The World Cultural and Natural Heritage assist them on money side to keep this area. But it's also problem. They rely on the money. So they don't work hard. If the rice terraces fetter them, I confuse to keep rice terraces. But of course I want to our children to show rice terraces.

Baguio to Banaue I had went to Banaue. To see Rice Terraces. On the time, I passed Bontoc, in Mountain Province. So I tried to use mountain Trail. Because It has very nice view in Mankayan and Buguias. But it has problem. When it's rainy season, It is often had land slide... But it's still dry season... even it was raining everyday... ... But... in the afternoon, It started to rain... ... The road, from Bontoc to Banaue, had land slide... I couldn't pass here... They were trying to remove the soil. They said they need only 1 hour... But, It became strong rain. I gave up to go banaue today. I returned to bontoc to overnight.

Today, We had conducted lecture for La Trinidad farmers. One is about management of broccoli farming and strawberry farming. La Trinidad Farmers were asking a lot of things about their farm. Soil condition, planting distance, fertilizing, protecting against pest and insect, and so on. The Nagano farmers and Technician were answering those problems. and suggested Japanese technologies. One of the farmer is interested in strawberry farming in green-house. Because this area is a famous by strawberry. If strawberry farming in green house is possible, This area can provide more strawberry and higher quality strawberry. But it is still on idea. I hope it will be realized soon. And the another is about Japanese cooking. They were cooking Sushi, Soba, Ohagi, Salad and Ton-jiru. I haven't join this group. but they were enjoyed and learned a lot. Some participants will try to cook again in their house. And also some will try to make new business.
